When comes to drinking, you like it to go down smooth. You really don't like the taste of alcohol - just its effect on you. So, you're proud to get drunk on fruity, girly drinks. Because once you're liquored up, the fun begins! |

So last night's PMA meeting went very well and I was really really pleased with music rehearsal. I think we're going to kick ass on saturday when singing the national anthem at the homecoming game. i was a little worried, but if we sound like we did in rehearsal, it should be pretty kick ass. speaking of greek stuff, i'm now a delt sig pledge! woohoo! pledge say was this past weekend... the parts i remember were fun. the puking wasn't, but oh well. i'm never getting that drunk again, but i'm laughing now that i'm looking back on it, so it's all good. we've got i think six weeks until initiation day, so lots to do and learn between now and then, including semi-formal on the 30'th. should be fun.
oh yeah, and GO BOSOX!! after losing three in a row, i thought they were finished, but i think i was wrong, hehe. game 7 tonight, can't wait to watch it. too bad i've got a damn choir rehearsal during the first 45 minutes, but at least i'll get to watch most of it... probably while having a few beers. i love wednesdays.
classes are starting to suck though. i've got a composition project due in theory on monday and an RDA project due the monday after. other than that, it's been business as usual since fall break.
We've got a lot of possible concerts coming up in Euphonics! we've got like 5 or 6 possible gigs that should all be enjoyable (provided that I can make it to all of them), so I can't wait to start doing those. woohoo!
ok, time to get gone. bye everyone!Current Mood: bouncy Current Music: Keith Urban - I Could Fly

rather than write like 4 pages on what i've been up to for the past 2 months, i'll just quickly summarize:
current location: back at college current status: single current mood-flow: good
i've been in a pretty good mood lately. this past weekend was a lot of fun. friday was alright; dan and i went down to hillsdale to play disc golf. i got my ass kicked, but oh well. that evening was the pma/sai/kky recruitment bonfire, which was a lot of fun. then later that night, i drank and hung out at tke for a while. dance party in jordan's room, and waterfalls in courtney's room. i went to bed at 3 and woke up at 7 (still drunk)... dan and i got up early (way too damn early, as it turns out) to go to ann arbor for the michigan-sdsu game. 'twas a good trip. they only won by 3 and they should have won by a lot more, but oh well. it made the game interesting. then saturday night after we got back, we pregamed a little while watching the UT-UF game (go vols... what an amazing ending) and then went to the delt sig highlighter party. danced for a long long time until my legs hurt like a mofo. then i had a little more fun after the party...
sunday sucked. woke up hung over as balls after like 4 hours of sleep maybe. then dragged my ass back to twin, watched tv with ryan's cousin who was visiting for a little while and then went to bed for a couple hours before the lions game (which they won... pissed about the titans though).
today was a good day. i skipped my first class of the week (that's always good). we won an ebay auction for michigan-iowa tickets next weekend, so we're going up friday to party and then to the game saturday... can't wait! i got a bid to tke tonight... i dunno if i'll accept or not (huge decision coming up), but it's really nice to get one. then i got the save a horse, ride a cowboy solo in euphonics tonight too, which made me happy. and keith urban's new cd comes out tomorrow!! too bad i gotta spend all day either in class or doing homework (that's what i get for partying all weekend).
peace out.Current Mood: happy Current Music: Rascal Flatts - Fast Cars and Freedom

i haven't updated this thing in about a month aside from song lyrics and shit, so this one might be kinda long. no one's going to read this entire entry unless i put key words in bold to keep everyone who's scanning ahead interested. so, in order to accomplish said task, i'll be strategically placing words such as beer and sex in seemingly random places throughout the entry at the ends of sentences. so if you're reading, and you happen to come across beer, sex, flaming bodily fluids or any other bold word at the end of a sentence where it doesn't make sense, just treat it like it's normal and move on.
today sucked. it took me 25 minutes to get out of bed, but i was only 10 minutes late for work, so my boss didn't care too much. the morning was boring 'cause there was nothing in the paper worth reading, and around noon, cole and i went to lunch like we always do. beer. then we get back and brian starts bitching because there was a run in the box and we didn't do it before we left. well, there were 2 other people in there that could have handled it, but evidently he didn't give a damn; he just decided to get pissy at us. later that day, cole and i were stacking boxes of paper in the hallway and cameron comes in and goes "i sure hope you're having fun throwing those boxes around, but could you stop it?! it's making too much noise!" first of all, asshole, we weren't throwing them, we were stacking them. liquor. secondly, you try to stack these things in this corner without making noise. they're HEAVY. if we put them down any lighter, our backs would break. i don't get paid enough to cause myself permanent back damage, dickweed. so later on i'm heading home, and it turns out that a beer truck jackknifed arcoss the northbound freeway and flipped over, causing all northbound traffic to be diverted from the freeway and into downtown chattanooga. to make matters worse, the thing flipped right over the 4th street on-ramp, so crates and cans of beer were falling off the freeway and onto cars (i shit you not). so all that traffic made getting home today a chore. sex
that was today. now bear with me as we flash back through the past month or so and i try to recall every mundane detail of the past month.
i suppose the highlight was vacation. i went up to michigan at the beginning of the month to spend time with friends and relax for a week. while it wasn't all fun and games, it sure beat the hell out of working every day. i went up and stayed the first night with sarah at her apartment because she agreed to graciously let me use her couch in exchange for me driving us both to gaylord (lololololol) for the euphonics 4th of july retreat. cheetos. the retreat was the highlight of the trip. i got to spend quality time catching up with most of my best friends and a lot of other good friends. plus we drank a lot. and i mean a LOT. after the retreat, we went to some summer camp for a gig that we got through dan. it was a lot more fun than i thought it would be; it put me in one of the best moods i'd been in in a while. then sarah, chels, dan, and i went to ann arbor to hang out and then back to albion and back to the couch. dirty word that pertains to the couch. went to GR the next day with chels and spent time with my family and meeting her friends, then took off early the next morning for birch run to go shopping with my grandmother who bought me lots of shit. then after dinner at the country club with my granddad and my uncles (they all had shitty rounds, so they bitched a lot of the time; it was funny). then after that, i left for bloomfield to stay with allison and her family for the remaining 4 nights. things didn't exactly go as i'd hoped (long story short, yes it hurts, i'm not over it, but i think i'm starting to get over it, don't ask about it unless i tell you about it), but i still had a good time. her family's cool. i got a kick out of her parents and her brother, who are seemingly some of the nicest and hospitible parents i've ever met. her sister's engaged now, so even though she'll never have reason to read this unless she's like some freaky stalker person (which she's not), congratulations alexys and greg. stalkers suck.
after hauling ass home (9 hours from north of detroit to my driveway... and no tickets!), nothing much has happened. took the car in to the dealer to have the transmission and brakes fixed. we got the brakes fixed, but the transmission estimate was too much, so we took it elsewhere, and then it stopped screwing up, so they couldn't diagnose it. so my car's pissing me off. pregnant. oh well, i suppose i'll drive it until it breaks and then get it fixed. damn thing is turning into a bottomless money-eating machine. it's not my money, but i'm wondering when dad's gonna get too pissed to keep fixing it. sex. oh, and i'm playing guitar on a regular basis again. i bought a book (guitar for idiots!), and i'm trying to cram in as much practice as i can before school starts so my teacher doesn't shoot me. it keeps me occupied and now that i can change chords and sing at the same time halfway well, it's becoming rather enjoyable. let's see... not much else has happened. the weekends have been enjoyable. got drunk at owen's two weekends ago and at robert's last weekend. oh, i did my first golden crown shot on friday. (golden crown = 195 proof pure-grain alcohol). that was an experience... i haven't decided whether it was a good one or not. but i was REAL happy for the rest of the night.
coming up on the calender is big and rich and tim mcgraw in nashville (but it's a big maybe) this sunday; tsali trip the next weekend, last day of work on the 12th, and large frat party at auburn on the 13th. should be a decent way to close out the summer, but i sure can't wait to get back to albion... 18th... less than a month... CAN'T WAIT. singing monkey.

I woke up early this morning around 4am With the moon shining bright as headlights on the interstate I pulled the covers over my head and tried to catch some sleep But thoughts of us kept keeping me awake Ever since you found yourself in someone else's arms I've been tryin' my best to get along But that's OK There's nothing left to say, but
Take your records, take your freedom Take your memories I don't need 'em Take your space and take your reasons But you'll think of me And take your cat and leave my sweater 'Cause we have nothing left to weather In fact I'll feel a whole lot better But you'll think of me, you'll think of me
I went out driving trying to clear my head I tried to sweep out all the ruins that my emotions left I guess I'm feeling just a little tired of this And all the baggage that seems to still exist It seems the only blessing I have left to my name Is not knowing what we could have been What we should have been So
Take your records, take your freedom Take your memories I don't need 'em Take your space and take your reasons But you'll think of me And take your cat and leave my sweater 'Cause we have nothing left to weather In fact I'll feel a whole lot better But you'll think of me
Someday I'm gonna run across your mind Don't worry, I'll be fine I'm gonna be alright While you're sleeping with your pride Wishing I could hold you tight I'll be over you And on with my life
So take your records, take your freedom Take your memories I don't need 'em And take your cat and leave my sweater 'Cause we have nothing left to weather In fact I'll feel a hell of a lot better But you'll think of me
Take your records, take your freedom Take your memories I don't need 'em Take your space and all your reasons But you'll think of me Take your cat and leave my sweater 'Cause we got nothing left to weather In fact I'll feel a whole lot better But you'll think of me, you'll think of me, yeah
And you're gonna think of me Oh someday baby, someday

» riverbend finale
so riverbend ended on a high note on saturday night with styx and the longest fireworks display ever. styx was awesome... we sang come sail away at the top of our lungs with almost everyone else in the crowd; it was sweet. the fireworks were better than usual too... they had to be at least 20, maybe 25 minutes long... it was insane. and it's a good thing that i have a parking spot at work, 'cause parking down there was totally insane. more people than usual were parked on the freeway on-ramps and off-ramps, and all the free lots were full, so it's a good thing we had my spot. today was ok, i suppose. got up at liike 1, watched donnie brasco, went to the weight room for leg day, which left me almost unable to walk by the end of it... took a shower, watched golf, and went to see dodgeball. hilarious movie. and now i'm off to bed... catch you cats later.
11 days until vacation... god damn it, come faster.

» keith urban is a god
so last night was awesome. riverbend opened with keb mo', who's an awesome modern blues artist, on one of the side stages, and his set kicked ass. he played for about an hour, and then we moseyed to the main stage for keith urban. his show was amazing. he was, by far, one of the best performers i've seen live. he was passionate about everything they played, and his vocal prowess (yes, i just said prowess) and uber-guitar skills were a blast to watch. best performance of the night had to be "you'll think of me." he's obviously got some emotional attachment to that song, because he sang it with such feeling and pain on his face that i thought he was going to break down at one point; it was amazing. the all-acoustic version of "your everything" was really good too, as was his cover of tom petty's freefalling. he played a couple songs from his upcoming cd (including the first single, which seems destined to rule the country charts when it comes out) that were both really good, and the extended instrumental parts of all the songs were good. he had more audience involvement than anyone i've seen at riverbend in a long time. someday i hope i can write something that 100,000 people know the words to... i can't wait to see him again some time, and his new cd comes out in october.
anyway, after the concert, we went to owen's to party. sat around and drank and joked around until about 3 AM, then woke up at 7 for work, which sucked. we all had hangovers, so work sucked for all of us. then shoulder day in the weight room was brutal, and i came home and went to sleep until about 9, and then went over to waffle house. we had all just woken up, so we all still felt like dammit. hence why i'm home so early. oh well. meh, sleep.

riverbend tonight was awesome. we saw this guy named anthony gomes on the miller stage, and he was bitchin! his blues-guitar style was awesome and he was a total entertainer all the way. you could tell he was having a hell of a lot of fun. then sara evans and pat green on the coke stage were both amazing. everything i hoped they would be anyway, heh. then i went to waffle house for an hour with owen, ben, kristen, and a couple of her friends (i think they were caroline and lauren, but i'm not sure, heh). i can't wait for keith urban and keb' mo tomorrow... it should be a good time.

so i had a nice 3-day weekend. i took friday off to go up to tullahoma with ben and owen to lauren's house (castle is more like it... that place is huge). we got drunk on expensive tequilla from mexico and some other stuff from the liquor cabinet. her house is frickin' amazing. it's huge with ceilings so high that there's a slight echo in almost every room. they have a wine cellar, a closet bigger than my bedroom, and a movie theater. yes, there's a movie theater room in her house with 8 reclining chairs, a projector and a screen. that room is probably worth more than my entire house.
so we wake up the next morning and we were gonna try and sneak into bonnaroo, but the traffic was so bad that we decided against it. so we went to the jack daniels distillary in lynchburg, TN which is about 20ish miles from tullahoma and took a tour. we bought a whiskey barrel from the barrel shop. a real, 3-foot tall barrel that used to contain whiskey for the previous 4 years of its life (that's how long they ageg it). it was 75 bucks, but we split the cost, so it's 25 apiece (and you still owe me money, dammit). dad and i cut the top off and i'm gonna make a coffee table out of it. we're gonna make a subwoofer box out of the rest of it and see if we can make any money on it on ebay. and if not, owen and ben are gonna take it to wooster in the fall for their apartment. we got back to chattanooga, and then i met tim at riverbend for michelle branch's show, which was pretty damn good. she played an all-acoustic set with no drums or bass or anyrhing; it wasn't anything like we were expecting, but it was a good set. ingram hill was the opener; they were awesome too.
saturday, i slept until like 2, worked out and ran, and then met ben (and later robert and david) at riverbend. the first band we saw on the miller lite stage was awesome. then ll cool j on the main stage sucked the big one. you can tell he's washed up, heh. heh, evidently some people think that cowboy hats are sexy, 'cause i was hit on by this random girl who wanted to compliment me on it, so that was kinda funny.
sunday afternoon was boring, then tim and i met laura and her friend mary-catherine at riverbend. the first band we saw, the rounders, was awesome. they're a local band, but damn were they good. the cello player was the most entertaining by far. he played it behind his head like hendrix with a guitar... how he supported that heavy-ass thing, i have no idea. they were good, then ben and owen came, and we saw some other band on the miller stage that was pretty good too, but we left about 3 songs in to go wander around. we wandered the length of the festival (which is prolly a good half or 3/4 of a mile), found nothing, and went to waffle house 'cause i got hungry and robert didn't have a pin to get into riverbend.
work today was same ol' shit. i got paid tho, which was cool. i'm started my new workout schedule this afternoon; hopefully it'll work. i'd be at riverbend now, but it's blues night, where they move the entire festival from the nice riverfront to the edge of the ghetto to "better involve the inner-city community" (i shit you not, this is their reasoning), and someone got killed there last year, so i tend to avoid it now. tomorrow's christian night, and we're thinking about going drunk. the the rest of the week should be good.

nothing incredibly life-changing. but hey, better than something life-changing and shitty.
1) calgary lost to tampa bay. canadian teams suck at hockey and the stanley cup just went to a team that operates in a city where it's been 90 degrees for the past few weeks and it never gets below freezing. yes, hitler DID just get nailed with a snowball in hell.
2) bought wood for the bar on sunday. haven't started building it yet, but it's there in the basement beckoning to me whenever i feel like getting off my ass and building it. there's no turning back now; that plywood just set me back 100 bucks.
3) work is... uh... still boring. but i've discovered that if i actually get an adequate ammout of sleep before going in, it's much less miserable.
4) my wrist still hurts and i can't do curls in the weight room so my biceps are getting absolutely no attention.
5) protein shakes taste like shit, tho the free shaker cup thingy is kinda cool.
6) riverbend starts friday, and for once i'm excited about the music more than just the hanging out... can't wait
7) 25 days until michigan... word.
that's it. time to sleep... if i can

» yeah memorial day weekend
baylor graduation was this weekend, so i had a feeling that i wouldn't be spending most of it bored. i was right. friday night was nothing too special... i don't even remember the first part of it, but we wound up at robert's house (as usual) doing not much of anything but sitting around and talking while some people drank until i left around 3-ish. i didn't drink 'cause i had work on saturday morning... which wasn't as bad as i thought it would be seeing as how i spent the bulk of my 4-hour shift sleeping in the file room. graduation was at 2, and i skipped the ceremony and laid out on one of baylor's boat ramps with owen, ben, will, and david. talked to everyone after graduation let out and then went to sofia's graduation party at her apartment complex which was bling because it was catered by sticky fingers and her russian relatives were funny. then most of us headed up to robert's while owen and ben went up signal to get the boat for sunday. party at robert's was pretty fun... it was just like every other party at robert's from last year... a bunch of people drinking on the deck. crashed in the playroom and got up around 10-ish. went to waffle house for food and said bye to will and trigg who were heading back home, and then spent the afternoon tubing on the river behind owen's boat and then sitting on stulce's party boat on the lake getting sun and drinking beer. that was pretty much the end of that day... we went up to partick's for a while and sat in the hot tub (yeah, that felt good on the sunburn, let me tell ya), then went to pick up my car and went home and slept for like 13 hours. then today, shaun and i learned some country tunes with him on the guitar and me singing up at his house in calhoun... that was fun too. now it's about time to sleep. work tomorrow (blech).

top five performances at the country music awards... (5) tim mcgraw "live like you were dyin'" (never liked mcgraw as much as some others, but his performance of this song was pretty damn good)
(4) sara evans "suds in the bucket" (fun and upbeat... should be fun to see her at riverbend)
(3) gretchen wilson "redneck woman" (she's got some attitude... kick ass show)
(2) martina mcbride "how far" (had never heard this one before, but i'll be sure to obtain her newest cd... by legal or illegal means)
(1) keith urban "you'll think of me" (awesome performance... he made me believe that he was feeling what he was saying... can't wait for june 17'th!)
three biggest disappointments... (3) rascal flatts "mayberry" (the performance was overall decent, but lavox was flat on most of his high notes... and since the whole chorus is pretty high... um, yeah...)
(2) kenny chesney and uncle kracker "when the sun goes down" (the cd version kicks ass, but kenny looked bored and kracker fucked up some lyrics)
(1) lonestar "let's be us again" (i've never cared too much for most of their stuff, but this song was ok when i heard it on the radio... too bad the lead singer is getting too old to hit the notes when he needs to)

» wow, it's boring
not that i hate being home, but i haven't been this bored in months. it was nice for a little while, but now every weekday is the same old shit. get up, go to work, come home, take a nap, watch tv, go to waffle house, come home, do nothing, go to sleep. the highlight of my day is usually being at waffle house for a couple hours or talking to albion people... how sad is that? so since existance at this point is totally mundane and boring, i'll highlight what i have to look forward to in the coming months:
this weekend is baylor's graduation, so we'll probably party somewhere june 11-19 is riverbend (keith urban!!) and lauren's party is that first weekend, so that'll be something to do anyway july 2-11 is my roadtrip to michigan (grand rapids 2-3, euphonics retreat 3-5, grand rapids 5-6, shelby township 6-7, bloomfield 7-11)... counting down the days for that trip august 13 (probably) last day at the office (can't wait for that one either) august 18(ish), back to albion
i might have forgotten something, and i'm sure more shit'll come up, but that's about it as of now. whee, excitement. somebody shoot me.
